Joanne Guenther, DMO

Joanne relocated to the Nanaimo area from Alberta. She is enjoying her tiny home and looking forward to exploring what the Island has to offer.

Meet Joanne.

Joanne has an adventurous spirit and an amazing gift for treating clients who are experiencing pain and discomfort.

Joanne began her career as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2010 and was immediately intrigued by the body’s inner mechanics. She began taking Visceral Manipulation courses in 2010, and always strives to find the best skills to help her clients.

Moving on to become a Manual Osteopath in 2021, Joanne has found it to be an effective treatment that addresses all of the body’s systems. Her skills as a Manual Osteopath can be summed up in one word: “relief”. And relief is exactly what clients can expect to experience after a treatment from her.

Joanne has specialized in Visceral Manipulation, a highly-honed skill set for the treatment of the body’s organs. She is also committed to sharing her knowledge with others as the Visceral Manipulation instructor at the National Manual Osteopathic College in Alberta.

Joanne doesn’t just focus on one part of the body. She looks at all aspects, and creates a custom treatment plan for each client to effectively address their concerns and help them get back to living their best life.

When Joanne isn’t helping her clients or teaching the next generation of Manual Osteopaths, she enjoys travelling, playing the ukulele, and making new friends.

What is Manual Osteopathy?

Manual Osteopathy is a whole body approach to healing and treatment that uses a combination of techniques to harmonize the body’s systems:

  • Structural (bones & joints)
  • Soft Tissue (muscles & fascia)

  • Organs (viscera)

Manual Osteopathy can be used to treat anyone aged 0 to 120. As a Manual Osteopath, Joanne can help with:

  • Acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Bladder issues
  • Breathing and lung difficulties, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Whiplash
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis (UC)

Testimonial for Joanne Guenther

Last winter Joanne helped me recover from some sort of respiratory blockage. It was tough until I started her visceral massage treatments. It took about 4-6 treatments, one per week, and I was back on my feet again. She is very skilled and I would highly recommend her for any ailments! She’s a Godsend.

Darn shame she moved to BC though, Lol. Consider yourselves lucky!
